ngl The alternative outfits are really good, especially Mona's. Though there were two iterations, one has zettai_ryouiki and the other where she looks like Spider-man

Agreed, I like them too. Jean and Rosaria's especially. I don't really understand why people are complaining when we get them as free costumes, though it DOES suck for Chinese players.

Some people prefer more exposed skins.
And it does also reminds people that CCP censorship exist and the implication this won't be the last time this will happen. TBH as a long time CN mobile games player, it is something you have no choice but accept it.

To be honest it takes a lot of creativity to "censor" an outfit, check Flower Knight Girl. It's mobile version impose "safe" version of majority of the girls who wear questionable outfits. At least the artists did a good job on it that their safe outfits look even better than the uncensored ones.

This. No matter how good the alternates are, you will always be reminded of WHY they exist whenever you see them. The idea that Genshin's own parent country is stifling its creativity with censorship is nothing short of despicable and goes to show why Mihoyo may be looking to "branch out" into other countries where characters like Venti aren't considered illegal.
My main concern, however, is how this will change the designs of new characters down the line. Will Inazuma contain the last sexualized characters in Raiden and Itto, as Mihoyo most likely won't bother to make two designs for a new character (censored/uncensored)? Or will Mihoyo be willing to go the extra mile and stay true to their character designers, allowing them to make what they want so long as they also make censored *cough* china *cough* versions?
Its designs like Mona's original outfit that make me like the character so much, so if they stop making sexy and awesome designs like that, my interest will definitely wane in this franchise.

If this was another country that didn't have such a constricting government, I'd agree, but the CCP's mandates have gotten so ludicrous now that it borders on satire. As I said before, effeminate men like Venti are banned from television there. Why? I guess they promote "weak ethics" in the younger generation, or some horse shit like that. With that sort of censorship as the context, how else are players suppose to see the inclusion of these outfits that are clearly meant to tone down sexuality?
You can like the designs and still disagree with the reason they were implemented, no problems.
I am of this mindset. Though I would never equip the outfits since they would always remind me of the awful context, at least Mihoyo put effort into them so much so that I WOULD wear them if the situation was different. As well, other players wearing them are alright in my book since they may not know or care about the context as much as I do.
I'm just afraid of what this means for future characters.
