We kinda knew this was coming due to the previous event but I'm not to bothered by it. I play Azur Lane for the waifus... plus this opens up opportunities for cold war era warships which also opens up more ships per faction plus we have no idea if this will actually have an effect on balance since the Chinese destroyers are all kinda bleh so I expect them to get risen to a maybe Yuudachi status (AKA meh to actually useful).

The China DDs have all had the potential to be really good due to the fact that they're all using a Russian DD base, which if Tashkent is anything to go by is a very strong base indeed. The issue is the lack of supporting skills and really any support to speak of. I feel like these retros will really push them to the point where they're more than relevant, occupying their own niche. Also I'm not sure where you get the idea of Yuudachi being "meh", unless you're referring to pre-retro, as Yuudachi post-retro is easily the second or third best DD in the game

Perhaps referring to the historical Yuudachi, which has been hyperinflated by stories and legends but in the end is just another sub-par japanese destroyer compared to its american, german, british and even later japanese counterparts.

He was referring to Yuudachi going from meh pre-retro to great post-retro, yes.
