Make a dark skinned character lighter and Twitter will lose its mind but do the opposite and it's fine I guess.
I usually feel a bit 'irritated' when someone did a 'blackwashing' art (Just look at my comments history to find them). But this piece...Somehow i'm not. Maybe because i see this piece got a 'cosplay' feel rather than 'blackwashing/mocking' feel? No words, no commentary, just a picture.

I've no issues with the art, my issue is the hypocrisy of twitter but I suppose I should be used to that.

I actually thought about this comment, thought about it, and looked up her twitter. Pretty much what I expected. Even mentioned this comment section. Which I find oddly hilarious.
It now is the lowest scored picture approved ever now.
Ngl, I uploaded it as a joke to see the comments, but seeing how it got approved kinda took the joke too far.
Danbooru isn't the place to create and observe flame war. It is to upload (and preserve) the artwork you deemed to be good enough to be 'enshrined' here. Although in this occasion, half of the blame can also be attributed to the approver who might be quite biased in approving Touhou-related posts.
Just proves how low Danbooru has fallen to allow this kind of thing to be uploaded and making people pay for certain images. This fall from grace is just pitiful to watch.

This image is public, nobody needs to pay to see it.
The real joke here is people being so butthurt that this is one of the lowest scored images on site now, despite having perfectly average artstyle. You can't tell me that this is any worse than any of the thousands of coomerbait copypasted art with laughable anatomy that we get each month. You're no different than chinese keyboard warriors losing their minds at pictures referencing taiwan or SJWs getting angry at fanart of trump.
No, nobody gives a shit that you're offended. Find another site to be a moral warrior on.
If there's one feature I'm grateful for above all others on Danbooru, it's the blacklist.
You do know there's other 'Boorus where you can see those images for free, right? Or you can always follow the original link and see the next picture from same set/artist?

Ok but why is it being downvoted so hard in the first place? If there's no issues with the artwork itself (which seems to be the general consensus here), then what's the impetus behind nuking it into oblivion?

Well, Twitter has had a stroke over a dark skin or even canonically tan (like from being outside) character being drawn lighter skinned, even accidentally. I don't personally find it wrong to draw characters any race, but I guess if people find it racist to draw characters in one direction, it shouldn't be accepted in the other direction.

When it's a character that is redrawn as black it almost always seems like an extremely lazy way of improving representation.

It's also belittling to Black people as a whole. It implies that we can't even be bothered to make anything original for them, just cheap knock-offs of classic characters.
As for the image. I really couldn't care either way. I didn't find it attractive, but I'm sure she's a sweet girl.
Yet people should always be able to --- generally peaceably --- express themselves. Those supporting the image should view it as Blackface as in theatre, which everyone now agrees is very bad. Those being racist, if any really are, should know that transposing race in art has a long respected history, as in The Black Virgin --- and for that matter The Holy Family in the race of the viewer, such as Philippine, Japanese, or even European.
I'm traditionalist enough to prefer usual aspects, particularly of Touhou girls; so as usual I will merely suggest that SJWs protest by publishing unorthodox pictures of The Prophet as a protest.
