It may be far too late at this point, but it really would've been cool to play the Zero series with the OG Zero design. Cause Inafune did say that Zero and X didn't go through a remodel, they actually are the same design as they are in the X series but the Zero series was a complete art style change which made them look different. So Zero in the Zero series, canonically, still looked like he did in the X series, and I honestly wish there can bea way to play the Zero games in the art style of the X series.

Dude, that not how art style work. Art style and character design are very different. And where the heck do you get that information from?
The released artbooks and audio dramas. But to be fair Inafune was in that emo phase of burning the past to make Zero the real hero of the franchise. Everything done by X and Light was for nothing, so the ending is, X and his family are trapped on Cyberspace for all of eternity, people become Cyborgs and there is Willy being a lich, while Light capsules stopped working.

You can easily look up this information by searching for it specifically, and it will tell flat out tell you, that canonically Zero in the Zero series looks like he did in the X series and that the series had a different art style to separate it from the classic and X series to make itself stand out from them.
