    Technically, it's a mount for a camera (modified to have an additional shutter release button on the bottom that is actuated by the trigger on the mount) and a telephoto lens. That model is an old Soviet/Russian design, but there are more modern variations that can be used with present-day cameras.

    Having done both photography and shooting, I can attest that there are some similarities in the techniques between the two.
