  • The #Pentagon hosted CEOs from top 8 #US weapons makers Wednesday to discuss ways of providing more arms to Ukraine and its European allies. Many in the US believe the ongoing #Russia-#Ukraine conflict could last for years. In 2021, the US reportedly exported arms worth $138 bln.

Yes, the weapon to surpass Metal Gear.

Wasn't this suppose to be some sort of Chinese propaganda for the Russians, but than it looks cool and NATO/Ukraine look awesome that they pulled it?

I'm almost tempted to add this to the ''Defeating the Purpose'' pool.

Are the people giving money to the xenomorph supposed to be NATO members?

I suspect they're supposed to represent some of the largest weapons importers. A lot of them are countries that would probably be getting equipment from the US. Some of the biggest importers are:

    India
    Saudi Arabia
    Egypt
    Australia
    China
    Qatar
    South Korea
    Pakistan
    United Arab Emirates
    Japan

As an anti-war piece, it works pretty well. As a pro-Russia piece, it obviously sucks.

Also, isn't China a major weapons exporter, as well? For that matter, the arms industry was also one of Russia's biggest exports besides oil, too. Unless their argument is "how dare they sell MORE weapons than us?!" it doesn't make sense to go this route. ("Damn capitalists! Beating us at capitalism!")

That's correct that China and Russia are major weapons exporters. In terms of market share from 2017 to 2021 the top 5 exporters were USA (39%), Russia (19%), France (11%), China (4.6%), and Germany (4.5%).

The only Russian tank that continues to protect stolen toilets, commendable, there is something to fight for.

Wow 4.6% against 39%, that sure is equal in damage. Also, why are we mentioning China in here? Stay on topic, do not try and deviate attention to other crimes, the image is about Russia, Ukraine and the US. /s

"The five largest arms importers were India, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Australia and China."

"Russia is the world's second-largest arms exporter: India buys one-quarter of those weapons followed by China, Algeria, Egypt and Vietnam"

"According to the SIPRI data, 47% of US exports were to the Middle East, including 24% to Saudi Arabia, their largest customer by far. 27% were to the Asia Pacific Region, 16% were to Europe and Central Asia, 5.4% were to South Asia, 2.7% were to Africa, and 2.6% to other countries in the Americas"

Basically if you discount SA, Russia and the US are pretty similar in terms of weapon exports.

Why, because a single tank is weaker than a war monster?

What about the unarmed man in front of tanks on the you-know-square?

Kaju films aren't about the heroic efforts of the military to stop the invasion of their homelands.

Basically if you discount SA, Russia and the US are pretty similar in terms of weapon exports.

adding a update to these numbers, a updated ranking has been published by Sipri in the "Trends in International Arms Transfers, 2023" publication.

For the period of 2019 to 2023 (so including around two years before the Russian invasion of Ukraine) Russia is now on the third place with 11% of global arms export, 2nd place is France with a slightly bigger 11% and the united states wayyyyy ahead on a first place with 42% of the global arms market share.

The above ranking of the period 2019 to 2023 includes two years prior to the escalation of the Russian war on Ukraine, so you can probably guess that Russian global arms exports are kinda fucked.

Still the fall in Russian weapon exports has been a longer trend, here is a direct quote from the publication relating to a longer period:

"Russia’s arms exports fell by 53 per cent between 2014–18 and 2019–23 and it accounted for 11 per cent of total global arms exports"
