Looking at the Duplicatebooru data, the Pixiv jpeg Quality is 100 and the Twitter jpeg Quality is 85. I don't know what that is measuring, but sounds like a significant difference.

Honestly, even few years back I got the impression already that the pixiv had higher quality over the tweeter variant unless the latter has larger resolution.

That used to be a given, but over the last few years something changed that all but eliminated the difference. I think twitter may have stopped resampling all jpeg images, but I'm not sure.
