My Hokuto-no-Fu is weak in everything but the movies and OAVs. So I assume Souther looked like that in the manga or TV series? Or was it Souther's master?
Possible Thouther's master. I think they meant Thouther as in Okuu since there's been crossovers/parodies of her using Nanto Ho'oh ken. Mostly because her attacks and movements were very simliar to Thouth in Unthinkable.
"Very similar"? More like "blatant homage". ZUN likes Hokuto no Ken. He named Reimu's Last Spell as a homonym to HnK's Musou Tensei, for crying out loud.

Well, if he was a fan I wouldn;t be surprise. Fist of the north star was one of the most epic animes they actually created back then and still kicks ass. I saw 3 episode of it and I was already hooked. And Ho'oh ken is like one of the coolest style in the show.
The spellcard in Imperishable Night is written 「夢想天生」 (Musou Tensei), which translates to something like "Fantasy Inherent Nature". I don't really know where the "Fantasy Heaven" part came in, unless they forgot to include the 生 when translating it.
The technique used in Hokuto no Ken is 「無想転生」 (also pronounced Musou Tensei), translated as "Unconscious Transmigration of Souls".
Both are psychos and loves their masters. Also, both are cool and starters of something epic since; *Okuu was the first ever real bad guy in the touhou games *Thouther was the first one to actually nearly kill Kenshiro and was the first one to survive his attacks. Thinking about it, Okuu and Thouther should hook up and created THE ULTIMATE LIFE FORCE.
