I remember she had a tattoo back when she was in Duca’s skin, was that a temporary tattoo or did Ohisa decide to remove it?

It was removed because the Japanese audience threw a fit over it, iirc.

I understand the cultural taboo against tattoos, but you'd think they wouldn't mind so much when it's only two or three characters out of literally hundreds.

It makes me angry how they're willing to edit artwork because of the complaints of JP and CN, but not EN. It also makes me wonder why Manjuu can't just tell their artists, "Please don't put any tattoos on your shipgirls". It's frustrating how bad communication is as much a cliché of animé studios, as it is of animé itself.

JP and CN are the biggest spender in the games compared to other servers like EN and KR. So, of course, Manjuu as the developer don't want to lose their income from them (JP and CN) and tries to not make them angry.

All I know is that cultural reasons or not, it still sucks. Those tattoos were tasteful and added a certain appeal that complimented the style of swimsuit she was wearing. I'm sure I'm not alone in saying that it's a major reason why I came to love her character design.

I understand that many are disappointed because they removed it
But personally I don't care, she is beautiful

This is a hot take but i think both JP and EN share almost the same content for the most part with the only difference being that JP gets all the spoils, that means EN can complain all it wants but unless CN and JP are on the same boat(like the controversy with IB spam) as EN the devs are going to do pretty much nothing to cather to whatever EN's demands are. That extends to the game balance, the characters they release and the merch which are for the most part JP and CN only with each server getting their own merch.
