Aya Shameimaru went out to Youkai Mountain to seek for her next scoop for the Bunbunmaru newspaper. However, on that day, Hatate decided to confront Aya directly. Hatate was jealous that the Kakashi Spirit news wasn't as popular as Aya's newspaper, so Hatate devised a way to humiliate her rival publicly. Hatate fought with Aya for a while, and after the scuffle, Hatate was able to wear out Aya and defeat her. Hatate bound up Aya with rope and an armbinder, and suspended Aya to a nearby tree on the mountain.

Hatate unbuttons Aya's shirt so her cleavage would be exposed, and Hatate took some scandalous photos of Aya. Aya felt angry and humiliated for letting Hatate get the upper hand on her, and flustered by being put in such a compromising state. After Aya made some angry, nasty retorts, Hatate ballgagged Aya and blindfolded her so Aya was completely helpless. After Hatate finished taking her photos of Aya, she mockingly tells her to 'look at tomorrow's news', and Aya knows all too clear of where Hatate's photos will show up. All the meanwhile, Aya's crow companion witnessed the whole situation from a branch of a tree, and instead of helping Aya out, it laughed (or rather, cawed) out loud at the hilarious predicament Aya was in!
