I keep getting tempted to pick the game up, but every time I do a search I see issues regarding security breeches. Shame, because I kind of would like to try it out.

Nowadays you can't really be sure even if your PC has malware, spyware, trojan, worm or virus even with the 'latest' Antivirus updates, so why not install one you clearly know has security breach risk and/or chinese spyware? It's not like you're an important politician, right?
I just nearly opened a .zip that has crypto wallet stealer inside of it few weeks ago, despite Virustotal and multiple virtual environment checker says it's safe. The thing is, with malware you need someone to report it into the repo so they could record the code and then use it as cross-reference to other reports; without that initial report of a person getting infected you won't be able to recognize that malware even if everybody downloaded the same file, just like how Akasha can't record things it cannot 'see' or how video game glitches won't get fixed if nobody reported it and thought it was normal gameplay mechanics. I'd say try it on something like a laptop, Genshin is quite light to run and has a great story.
Anyway, tagging Scaramouche (or rather, Wanderer?) on the pier that's blowing Nahida away.

If you're talking about the ransomware stuff from a few months ago, the way I understood that is that the problem is not the game itself, because you don't have to have the game installed to get infected. Any malware you get could just come bundled with the vulnerable driver from Genshin's anticheat and fuck you up regardless. Just having the game installed and playing it doesn't put your PC at risk more than it usually is.

I can't find the tweet right now, but isn't that Xiao? There was a bug that blew up about a week ago where Xiao's E pushed Nahida while on her swing animation, causing her to zoom away.

Should be Xiao. Bug works from any push, but Xiao E has more momentum than running. You can replicate with Shenhe or Cyno E too.
