I'm pretty much on board with the "it's not real so there's no harm in it" argument. But I don't know man, it doesn't always sit right with me. I can understand wanting to "enjoy" Kanna's aesthetic removed from what she is obviously meant to depict, the girly frilly dress, and big eyes are cute and fun. But lolicon is a decisive genre for a reason, I don't really blame people for feeling uncomfortable with the existence of a genre that, at best, fetishizes traits and aesthetics typical of a young girl, and at worst, depicts young girls as sexually appealing and desirable (even if they're 2D). I'm not at all saying that if you enjoy lolicon then you are unquestionably a pedophile, but I suppose I do think that we should examine why we like what we like. Forgive my frankness, but even if you don't depict a real person when you draw a dragon who takes the appearance of a nine year old girl, maybe you should take a moment to ask yourself if you think sexually glorifying an infantile aesthetic is okay with you.

I'm not exactly a good choice for a relationship due to my depression issues, and I'm not that attractive to boot. All I have left is to pretend that there's a girl out there who would like me. Simply just a surface level search on the topic, like on wikipedia, shows that there have been studies on this. Take this section for instance: the vast majority of lolicons don't like actual children, they like an idealized, unrealistic representation of a young-looking girl that has no counterpart in reality. The message in the image above really is just a tl;dr of all this, it's just a shame many seem to lack the common sense to grasp the concept. Lolicon criticism/demonization is just simple kinkshaming in the end, don't let anyone else tell you otherwise.
