We all knew it was going to happen, but man, look at Sanae's snake ornament, even it felt Meiling's hit.

I hope the third round at least breaks some of the ring, otherwise both sides will feel very bad about the first rounds

If Sanae wakes up round 3 should be good.

Oh, come on. Yuuka was tearing those two apart. I can maybe understand Sanae being taken out by sweet hit by Meiling, but there's no reason to think that Suwako would go down to Flan just like that.

well, Yuka's attacks were deliberate, precise, a slow show and she just wanted them to hurt. I can't remember her using something like an style to fight

Flan, on the other hand, look at her go, she looks like a little monkey about to bite off Suwako's face. That gotta be a bit more hard to deal than having Yuka grabbing her neck

Suwako held her own against a very pissed off Yuuka. And while Yuuka lacked a defined fighting style, making her somewhat easy to outmanuever, she knew how to hurt and do damage to people.

I see no reason to think that an inexperienced, but powerful beserker (Flan) would do any better. I'd think she'd do alot of superficial damage and waste alot of energy.

its not that flan took out suwako that fast... its that sanae got knocked out before she switched with suwako.
Flan got confused, is all.

Flan just stopped Suwako from entering the ring and interfering is what I got from it.

Also flan is a vampire and either somewhat or a hell of a lot stronger then Yuuka.

but that's the thing. Yuka wanted it to drag, Suwako only held her own by stubbornness, not out of any skill.

Remember that Meiling actually trained Flandre. She's not inexperienced at all. Flandre also knows how to hurt and do damage to other people, she actually has problems not doing that.

I don't think Yuuka was dragging it out. Not after she got pissed off. And, Suwako, definiently showed some skill. She didn't sustain a beating simply due to her godhood. She dodged, she blocked, she countered.

The only one she really managed to torment was Sanae. She couldn't treat Suwako the same way.

Remember, folks, Flan didn't have to do much but delay, Suwako. Regardless of whether she'd be easier to defeat than Yuuka or not misses the point.

Meiling called on Flan to keep Suwako from breaking the pin, so she could get the three-count on Sanae.

My confusion, honestly, is with the "She hit through the chin". The way Meiling grabbed her last strip, up to the hit, I'm confused how Sanae got struck, especially the way Meiling's elbow is bent in the second panel, like she threw out an elbow strike somewhere.

Upward palm strike (like n uppercut) I would hazard a guess. I think the previous strip was just misleading a bit on hand placement.

He spend 4 panels to describe how Meiling hit Sanae's chin. He decided to omit them.

I see...looks kind of odd, I guess. I think the extra strip might have made it a little less confusing.

I think all we need to say here is Sanae got knocked da fukk out.

Suwako is a God, a very powerful one at that, with millenniums of experience. I think the answer to whether or not she is powerful is pretty much self explanatory. Her match with Yuuka was pretty bad, but Yuuka is one of the strongest being in Gensokyo who is known to have a tremendous physical strength. Possibly being the manifestation of nature itself, it pretty much puts her on equal terms with a powerful God in strength (the border between the eight million Gods and Youkai of Shinto are pretty hard to define anyways,) and Suwako did manage to hold her off. As someone said, it's not whether or not Suwako is as strong as (or not as) Flan, Flan only needed to hold her off for few seconds.

As for the move Meiling used, when I read the author's explanation (pardon me if I've made a mistake, it's been a while since I have,) Meiling pulled Sanae in with her right arm, and started off with an open hand shot to the abdomen with her left, causing Sanae to look down, change the course of her shot upward into an open hand upper, and followed that shot through with its force all the way, quickly driving an upward shot to the same area with the elbow of the same arm. Two very efficient hit in one movement, with momentum and a bit of a counter behind her.
