I heard rumors it's actually Mordred, King Arthur's son... or I guess Saber's daughter. Only rumors though so I'm not too sure

I think it still just looks like "Saber's normal dress minus armour, but red" to me unless I look really closely.

It supposedly comes from Saber Extras figma that was released recently, but that's odd since even in the Fate verse with King Arthurs mythology was "changed" a little, that character was still a male. But then again Extra does take place on the internet so hey maybe it's a trap!

The mainstream Nasuverse has Mordred as a male.

My money is on Jeanne d'Arc since ZeroCaster mentioned her looking almost the same.

Nah, I think it's just Arturia. I doubt they'd get rid of the most popular character in the series (even if they have already seemingly dropped Rider).

If they are going to do that, I doubt it'd be Joan of Arc, either. She dressed as a man to fight, just like Saber did.

Ah, I checked, Mordred was indeed male, though I'll be damned if it wasn't convincing that he wasn't.

They already got rid of almost all characters in Fate/Zero. Now they're going into another direction. Also that sword couldn't be Excalibur. Sword of Fierbois on the other hand...

I doubt she's Arturia. Not the same VA generally means another character.
My money (and hopes) in Jeanne D'Arc.

I certainly hope that is not Jeanne.
I would be kind of dissapointed to see, that the only difference between Saber and Jeanne are a recolored/ see-through dress and a sword.

Not really. Most of the main characters of FSN are in Fate/Zero (even if they only have small parts, like Rin and Sakura), and the main point of Fate/Zero is to provide more details to the backstory of the main FSN characters (Shirou (through Kiritsugu), Rin (through Tokiomi) and Sakura). Even if it doesn't directly involve the main FSN characters, it certainly appeals to their fans, because it tells us a huge amount of information about them.

Fate/Extra currently doesn't involve Shirou (seemingly) and has Sakura with a minimal part. I don't see them cutting Saber out too.

Oh, and Joan of Arc dressed in a see-through dress is utterly absurd. When she was fighting, she dressed like a man. She certainly wouldn't have worn anything like that.

Well, in Fate/Zero Caster mistakes Arturia for Jeanne, and thinks she's been brainwashed. This suggests that Arturia and Jeanne look very, very similar. So yes, I'm going with Jeanne on this one.

Logic, anime, God, catgirls, etc. Type-moon takes "liberties" with its source materials.

If having marginal roles or not appearing at all counts as high involvement in the story for you, then I don't know what doesn't. What FZ did was telling the story of their precedesors and I highly doubt it was made with in your theory in mind. As a fan, such silly excuse wouldn't appeal to me.

And King Arthur was a dude. Do I really need to say anything ?

Fate/Zero explains a huge amount about Shirou's father, tells us how Rin ended up without any parents, and the focus of one of the masters is on saving Sakura (with a huge amount of information about just what she had been through). Ilya also gets quite a bit of backstory from it. The point is that Fate/Zero is part of the story of the FSN characters, even if they're not directly involved. It tells you a lot about how they ended up in the situation that they're in. Fate/Extra, on the other hand, won't do that. It's a retelling of the FSN story (presumably, anyway) involving the same masters (well, mostly) and some of the same servants. I don't see any reason for them to cut out probably the most popular FSN character (who, notably, was in Fate/Zero...). It's just throwing away sales. Especially when they've clearly made Saber in this look like the FSN Saber.

And King Arthur was a dude. Do I really need to say anything ?

In the FSN universe, King Arthur was a girl who dressed like a man. There's actually nothing to say that King Arthur couldn't have been female even in our universe.

On the other hand, Joan of Arc is well known to be a woman who never dressed as one when in battle. Fighting in a skirt I could believe, but not fighting in something as revealing as that. She was a strongly religious person who believed she was fighting in the name of God. There's no way she'd have ever worn that dress.

Minor roles are minor roles. Not appearing is not appearing. It's nice they gave us more background, but they're still minor roles or not appearing. After that, I can't seem to grasp any logic behind your words and what you're trying to say. And yeah, she looks just like Saber, ergo she looks just like Joan.

    Face, meet palm. Palm, face.

King Arthur is an entirely fictional character. He never existed in our universe.

Well, actually, there is some evidence that he's based on a real historical character, although the legends obviously don't bear much resemblance to the life of any possible real-life King Arthur.

But, yeah, I mis-worded that statement. The point I was making is that King Arthur being secretly female isn't inconsistent with the legends told about him (and nor is any of the rest of Saber's story, given the potential for corruption of legends). Joan of Arc wearing a see-through skirt is.

Unfortunately, I made a total hash of getting that point across....

There is no historical basis for Cú Chulainn to be wearing a skintight bodysuit either.

EXTRA is an alternate universe and everything takes place online in THE MATRIX so it's possible that Mordred could be female.
