    C101 New Book Battle of the Southern Kingdom of Italy

    Italy was defeated. However, the battle is not over. Many remaining Italian soldiers spoke of a split between Norht and South within the Italian Army. And so the fight continues.

    For anyone who may not know, WWII turned into a civil war for Italy. The Kingdom of Italy in the South Vs. the Socialist Republic of Italy led by Mussolini in the North. After the Armistice of Cassibile in 1943 some Italian Royal Army soldiers chose to fight alongside the Allied forces against socialist fascism, many of whom were issued British military uniforms but continued to wear their Royal Italian Army insignia.

    It's the "Italian Social Republic" to be precise.
