seems like they counted it as a motion required 1/60th of a second rather than 1/30th.

    One yojana = 13km (approx.)
    Therefore 200 yojana is 200 * 13km * (60 * 60 / (1/30)) /h
    = 280 800 000 km/hour

    1 mach = 1225 km/h (at sea level)
    Therefore 200 yojana is 280 800 000 / 1225
    = Mach 229 224.5

How fast is Mach 229 224.5 you ask? Well, an aircraft broke the sound barrier at speed exceeds mach 1. Youmu can move at least 70 times the speed of sounds. In single slash. And that's quite fast.

Isn't it "200 Yojana in One Slash"?

That would make more sense, considering they're talking about "the motion" and "two frames", etc.

To compare to something like the speed of light:

She is saying it takes 1/30 of a second to make 2600Km, meaning that she makes 78000Km in a second. Comparing this to the speed of light its arround 1/4 of its speed.

How fast is Mach 229 224.5 you ask? Well, an aircraft broke the sound barrier at speed exceeds mach 1. Youmu can move at least 70 times the speed of sounds. In single slash. And that's quite fast.

Uhm i dont know how did you came to this conclusion, each match means its 1 time the speed of sound... meaning 229k match its 229k times the speed of sound.

26% of the speed of light, giving her a Lorentz factor of 1.0356.

    Relativistic Youmu is relativistic

All the cool kids were doing calculations, so here's my take:
According to Wiki the yojana varies from 6 km to 16 km, and it's safe to assume that, if Gensokyo were present on Earth, it's air temperature would lie between extremes that we have measured. So, if Youmu travels 200 yojana in 1/30 of a second...

At her slowest (traveling 6km yojanas in Al'Aziziyah, Libya) Youmu travels at Mach 98718.58.
At her fastest (traveling 16km yojanas at the Vostok Station, Antarctica) Youmu travels at Mach 353100.85.

If, however, we assume Youmu's calculations are correct, we know her speed (78000 km/s) and Mach number (27000) which implies a speed-of-sound of 2888.89 m/s, which would require an air temperature of over 4000 degrees Celsius... Or, for all sound to be transmitted by Aya.

If we take her speed to actually be 2808 * 10^5 km/hr, and approximate light speed as 3*10^8, then she moves at exactly 26% the speed of light.

Looking back now, the artwork of nanaroku has really improved. And to think this whole story started with an innocent math question...

Well, 60 FPS is the speed Touhou games are meant to run at, thus, two frames would be 1/30th of a second.
Now we can safely calculate the speeds of all other movements in Touhou!

2808×10^5km/h .... that's ... roughly 27000 Mach. 2808×10^5km/h is actually approximately Mach 229000 in Earth's atmosphere. But then again, we're talking about Gensoukyou here...
It's not time for lunch yet, you know?
    What's that?
It's a kind of abacus, called "calculator".
    *heart pounding*
Let's get this show on the road! Yuyu-yomu #1-1
What speed does that compute into, I wonder?
    Hey, Youmu~~
Um, one yojana is roughly 13km; the motion takes 2 frames, so that's 1/30 sec; hence the speed is...
    Yes.
    Ah, yes, Yuyuko-sama.
Ho... I wonder if that's for real?
Shall we perform actual measurements after lunch?
Now that you mention it, I've never actually calculated it before.
You've got that spellcard, "200 yojana in a flash", right? Ancient Indian measure of distance. See wikipedia.
