A bit belated but her name is basedoff of Mathew P. Letuku - aka Mathias to the German soldier who knew him in JG27 - he was Hans-Joachim Marseille's "batman" (which was a slang term for: "personal assistant to an officer") in Africa.

It's rather an interesting Historical note of the 1940's and is a clever, if esoteric; WW2 historical reference.
