At long last. The confession we’ve been waiting years to read.
Also, I wonder if the 夢じゃない (it’s not a dream) line is yomu’s way of responding to all those comments saying “And then Douki-chan woke up” from last time?
I figured that things finally happening meant Yomu was ready to end this story, but calling it "Prologue" sounds like he's gonna CLANNAD: After Story us.
To be fair Himura-sensei already has three complete relationships under their belt; Maegami-chan, Sada-chan, and Cheer-chan. So they're no stranger to "tying the knot" so to speak.
That said I think I speak for everyone when I say that Senpai needs to get up the courage to ask out/propse to Kouhai-chan proper.

Yes, but also no. I can't even listen to the ending song of that show anymore without my emotions coming near tears.
Time to translate some of yomu’s Twitter comments. I’ll address the most important one first.

Oh shit. So like, really? Like, for real real?
For real real.
Yomu replied to a couple of comments on Twitter by first saying, “夢の可能性はほとんど無いと思います!!!” which roughly translates to “I think there’s very little chance that she’s dreaming!” Obviously, people started latching onto the the ‘very little chance’ part and freaking out a bit. Yomu then followed up by saying, “不安がらせてごめんねみんな…ほんとに夢じゃないよ……” which translates to “Sorry for making everyone worry… It really isn’t a dream……”
So we’ve got 100% confirmation now. This is the real deal.

Wait a second, why is this labeled prologue? Are we going to get more cute stories as they are actually a couple? God I hope so

Could be! Yomu’s specifically not replying to the comments asking about the word ‘prologue’ though, so we’ll have to wait and see. The one thing he did say was “そしてここからスタートだね!” which means, “And this is the start, right?” Again, vague, but we’re definitely in for more. We’ll have to wait and see what this means though. Time skip? Pick up from the next day? A title upgrade to Motto Ganbare Douki-chan? Who knows?
There’s one other hint as to a future storyline: “ついに赤下着が火を吹くときが来た…?!” I think it roughly means “Has the red underwear’s time to blaze forth finally come…?” (Little shaky on translating 火を吹く. It literally means to spew fire, but can be used figuratively for things like bottled up emotions bursting free, bullets firing from a gun, and, apparently, showing off fancy red underwear.) Anyway, what matters is that yomu’s definitely hinting that this could come in the after story! (Just… How many years will it take?)
A couple of other comments include…
Someone said “Happy end!” and yomu responded, “I’m a fan of Kouhai-chan, so it’s complicated for me…”
A reply to takayaki, who channeled Douki-chan’s mum’s energy (see post #5590830) with “とうとう孫に会えるのね‼︎おばあちゃん嬉しいわ!” That roughly translates to “This means I can finally meet my grandkids! Grandma’s so happy!” Yomu’s reply was basically, “Wait mom, that’s too fast!”

Engagement is just the beginning especially if yomu has drafted plot for Kouhai and Intern. Maiko also needs to find love and salaryman needs to get used to having a face.

I've also been having mixed feelings about this due to being a fan of Kouhai-chan. Ever since post #5227839 I've went from saying "Ganbare Douki-chan" to saying "Ganbare Kouhai-chan" and really rooting for her.

Five, technically - there's also Gimai-chan (with her stepbrother), Jitome-chan (with her cousin), and six if you take into account that Ai-chan may have already done the horizontal mambo with Onii-chan before the series got soft rebooted.
