    For the record, Himura admitted in the replies that they made a mistake with the sizing of the arrows (they should be equal to represent how the forces they represent negate each other).

    No no no, the unequal size makes more sense since Ai-chan's hand (wrist) functions as the fulcrum. The closer you are to the one end, the lower the energy needed to counterbalance the mass on the longer side. If both arrows are of the same size then the dishes will not rest at equivalence.

    I'm pretty sure that it's the other way around - applying force to the longer end of the lever applies more force to the shorter end (in exchange for less distance). That's how crowbars work, for example. The arrow's sizes should be reversed, rather than just equalized.

    Also, I wonder how Ai's going to set those plates down without messing up her balancing act.

    That's...what I said. 'the closer you are to shorter end, the lower energy you need to counterbalance'. In this case it's not only Ai-chan's breast that exerts downward force, her hands ALSO exerts upwards force. The force from her hand pushes upwards, using her breast as counterweight to lift the plates.

    A force applied to the longer end of a lever applies a greater force over a shorter distance to the shorter end, and vice-versa. This is how a crowbar, basically a lever with an extremely lopsided fulcrum, allows you to pry apart things by pulling on the longer end. With Ai's wrist - the fulcrum - being closer to her body than the plates (as shown by the dots drawn on the plate), it's the plates that are on the longer end and thus exerting more force relative to their weight. Being closer to the shorter end means that you need more energy, not less, to counterbalance.

    As someone else said before the arrows are right, it's the fulcrum that doesn't make sense at all. The wrist should be closer to the plates, so the minimal breast pushing force exerts a greater force to keep the plates upward and in balance. Try to push a door from the handle, now try to push it from closer the hinges. The closer you do force to the fulcrum, the more force is needed to do the job.

    You could take in account the wrist upward force, but that vector is not represented on the image.

    To be honest, I saw this as a humourous way of saying "Ai's breasts are SO massive (and thus heavy) that they're able to hold up the plates, even WITH a completely lopsided fulcrum!"

    (It would certainly fit Himura sensei's style of boob humor)

    I though about that posibility too. However, for that case the arrow thickness representing the force applied need to be exchanged.

    She needs stronger arms to hold longer that position too, because she is now lifting more than the weight the plates have. She's basically alleviating shoulders.
