Reimu saved Gensokyo nine times before Sanae came along, and she only tagged along once. In fact, Sanae and her deities threatened Gensokyo once themselves, while Reimu has never done such a thing. Sanae is a demi-god, while Reimu is a normal human. So Sanae has to do even less training than Reimu to get stronger.

Reimu doesn't have two mommy goddesses to help her out of tough situations either. Instead she has four moochers who make her life hell. And she does all of the chores at the shrine herself. Reimu doesn't even have a family and has never lived a modern, simple life with electronics, unlike Sanae. Reimu basically grew up in the wild.

But the Moriya Shrine is atop a several mile high mountain, completely infested with youkai, and takes hours to even reach. I don't understand why their Shrine is easier to access. Reimu's shrine may be far, but it doesn't share these problems, with only a few low-level youkai strolling on the road from time to time.

And shouldn't the human village still not be most faithful to the Hakurei Shrine? Because, you know, everyone would PERISH if the Shrine Maiden would starve to death. If Reimu dies, the border collapses, making youkai go extinct and causing magic on Earth to fade away FOREVER.
If Sanae dies, jack shit happens. Why are two obsolete gods more important than the entirety of youkaihood and the remaining magic of the world? They really don't deserve all that faith and money.

That's very dramatic. Makes you wonder how Gensokyo got through the last Hakurei maiden death.

Reimu has done a lot for Gensokyo, but only works hard as long as it benefits her or when forced into it. She's a good for nothing layabout otherwise, often attending only to the bare minimum required to carry out her daily duties.

Nothing of Sanae's life outside is known, either, so that's not fair. Little is known of Reimu's life previous to Touhou, in fact. It's never said that she grew up alone and she does receive help from time to time currently. She's also not just a "normal human" since she also had a lot of inborn ability even before she began training, like Sanae.

I figured that a Hakurei Maiden passes on her task to her biological child when her child reaches a certain age. The 'Hakurei link' also passes on in this way. You do realize that there are most likely contingency plans for that sort of scenario, right?

Dunno how Reimu does less than Sanae who we only know that started doing some youkai hunting way later after the incident that was her introduction, Reimu does the same aside of solving problems since longer and she hadn't got much.

Many people say that Reimu is lazy when as much it seems that she's just laidbackand considering the little to non existence activity in her Shrine, it's not strange that she wouldn't do much, some may not realize it, but a Shrine, the same way a Church, is dependant of the people showing up, if they don't, your duty is reduced to cleaning it up (which Reimu does) and as much answer calls, which she also does.

One can admit she seems to had developed some greed or at least a highly needy attitude toward money or treasures, out of her necessity, yet at least she doesn't try to steal it from others like Marisa may do, as much, she goes for treasure hunting if she heard about any treasure nearby.

Truth be told, i don't think that the Moriyas hadn't done enough to justify the usual claim of them getting more donations, in fact, i wonder if it's canon to begin with, we know Reimu's lack of donations had been canon since the first Windows Touhou (i'm not sure if it was mentioned on the PC-98 games) but i hadn't heard of The Moriya Shrine being way more popular. Supposedly Byakuren's does better out of her youkai and human coexistance message and being in the most comfortable location for the faithful (in their very town)

Moriya Shrine has two hot goddes and one hot teenager while the Hakurei shrine has only Reimu. Men would go to the former.

Well that's pretty much correct. Besides, humans are strictly off-limits to the mountain (with possible exceptions to Reimu, Marisa, Sakuya & Youmu [considering her human side]).

Moriya Shrine built a ropeway that allows humans to enter their shrine without bothering the youkai. Besides, Aya's the one to blame for the rumors of youkai always being at the Shrine. Very few actually go there regularly or even stay:

Fairies - (Four of them live there and Reimu has taught them well enough to the point where they don't target other humans) Many fairies like to visit and play at her shrine. They're practically harmless and Reimu even treats them as if they were children.
Oni - (Only two visit from time to time. Even so, Kasen's true identity is still a secret) Suika does freeload but she is rarely seen cuz Reimu knows how to keep her hidden.
Remilia - Mostly visits at night and even so, she's often accompanied by Sakuya(her human maid).
Aya - She moves so fast though, you'll probably won't see her anyways.
