Yuuka has no qualms with the cannabis plant itself; rather, the harvesting of it for recreational use. The excessive amount of water required to mantain just one plant, around 22 litres a day, puts the soil beneath it at risk of its top layer eroding, thereby degrading the quality of the land and making it harder for natural flora to grow. The sediments of these aforementioned top layers tend to flow into streams of water, as well putting at risk the fish who inhabit it, not to mention the effects of using up 22L of water a day on a single crop to begin with. At the same time, cannabis is not altogether bad for the earth it grows on. It is highly proficient at phytoremediation, (the act of cleansing contaminents from the enviroment using greenery) being able to absorb heavy metals from the soil without much prompt or issue. Among said metals are arsenic, cadmium, mercury, and lead, some of the most toxic, prolific contaminents found to be polluting the planet. Due to its long roots and far-above-average rhizosphere circumference, the cannabis plant is able to dig itself deep into the soil and extract far larger quantities of these metals from far greater depths than most plants delegated to the duty of phytoremediation. This, of course, is great. and while perhaps not enough to offset the water bill and expense to aquatic wildlife, it's certain to make Yuuka happy. In short; don't do drugs. Plant drugs, clean the earth of pollution with the roots of these drugs, and understand the value they bring in moderation. The flower youkai will thank you for it.
