Just as a total random side note of information: the flowers in the image are red spider lilies. The Japanese use them in funerals and in graveyards. You'll also see them in Japanese farm fields because they are poisonous and the vermin (insects, rabbits, and mice) that chew on them will die. That's also why you'll see anime with female assassins use these flowers in their design or arsenal. So basically a "flower of the dead" as it were.

It's a very hardy and pretty flower, so a favorite of mine in the garden. Blossoms in the fall, as the illustration title indicates.
