I'm a little surprised it was just the hips, all things considered.
It's a lot easier to maneuver yourself to go though an opening "one boob at a time" if you're big enough to need to do so, while hips have that big ol' pelvic bone to contend with and can't really be moved independently of one another like boobs can.
