The monster in picture is not Gaia the Fierce Knight but Gaia the Fierce Knight Origin.
For more context, Kurikara gains huge ATK after summon thanks to her effect, but Gaia's effect resets her ATK back to original, which is 1500, hence she is fucked (quite literally) by Morinphen here, which has 1550 ATK.

Morinphen is in similar position to Shapesnatch (in OCG and TCG, respectively) as a joke character, owing to it being a Level 5 Normal Monster with low stats (1550 ATK 1300 DEF); but unlike the latter, Morinphen cannot be searched from the Deck thanks to its typing and stats (DARK Fiend, but the searchers from the Main Deck for them want monsters with 1500 or lower ATK. You can get this card with the effect of Dharc the Dark Charmer, Gloomy (a Link monster), however).
