You have good reasons. That's really small even by yukkuri standards. Gotta take a good care of it. Damn, if I were that owner I wouldn't even dare pat the yukkuri, given my clumsiness.
As a cultural note, these are bells used in shinto shrines to call upon the gods. So in a sense these fit the theme for Reimu, and can be used to call upon her 'god', the owner.
