I dont like fanservice too much, i dont like when the anime is nothing but boobs, i dont think that liking fanservice = liking danbooru is really true...
the problem is they typically put the fanservice stuff in the middle of tense, serious scenes and it kills any real tension. like the bullet scene. its supposed to be an epic moment but its destroyed when the boobs start bouncing around the bullet.
Just saying, keep the fanservice in the lighthearted moments of the series but keep it out of the serious and tense scenes.

Best summary of how I think about this.
It's a bit too much, if it went right under her breasts, I would have thought it was epic. But they moved that quickly in slow motion to barely dodge the bullet...?

That's EXACTLY how I felt on the first couple of episodes, I just stopped and I love fanservice....but this show wears it out so quickly.
You guys need to read more about what the creators wanted by creating this anime - they wanted jiggling boobs in every scene! Thats why most of it is over-censored... They don't give a shit about physics XD Then again, most of animes(even more serious animes) don't like physics much...

Made it far more epic if you ask me since it just missed killing her
Great fan-service thats horribly matched with the source material. The manga doesn't provide anywhere near as much fan-service as the anime. (Even if you include the bonus chapters)

While I would agree with you on this with other certain anime series, I can't on this one, or this scene. They took one of the most parodied screen in movies and took it in a direction I'll never forget. It's ludicrous, it's crazy but goddamn am I not going to forget this.

Perhaps this could be said about quite a few anime. One in particular that comes to mind was rosario+vampire. Loved the manga, hated the anime for the all the unneeded fanservice. Shit was a buzzkill :\
This is only good for tits and volience, nothing more. Basically fanservice anime with Gantz level volience and character designs by a H-artist (Izuzuma); nothing of note.

i completely agree with you the manga is awesome but the anime was all fanservice but little to no plot
Yeah. And given the manga storyline, R+V had real potential to be a good action anime. Especially if they got into the later story arcs. The second ending was the best thing about season 1. There was no redeming factor to the second season; if there was, I'm unaware of it. I gave up hope after the villain was some kind of curry youkai.

Well said. I really wanted to give this show a chance, even with the rampant Gainaxing and the animators(?) apparently having severe ass fetishes, but... geez. Maybe this'll be So Bad It's Good?
I think this is made funnier by the comments. When I saw this in the anime I couldn't stop laughing and I watched it over like three times because it was so hilarious.

THIS
I honestly WANTED to like the anime but the fan service was a bit too much for me. I'll just stick to the manga.
From the start HSotD was just a huge B movie, nothing more, nothing less. Tits and violence at its most gratuitous and cheesiest are all those flicks are about and transitioning to anime gives opportunity to do what the creators couldn't in the manga.
I agree. I wish there was less of everything minus the blood, gore, good animation and zombies (which doesn't leave much other than panty shots and a character who likes to state the obvious in his narrations over and over again. Oh, and panty shots.)
Had there been less fanservice, I would have spread the anime to more friends but I'm not even sure if I can stand it anymore. It's by no means a good way to spend time, but still entertaining none the less.

Tell me about. Oddly enough there was actually less fanservice in this episode than the previous too episodes but I guess they made up for it with some over the top scenes. While I generally understand peoples hatred of fanservice, it's been 8 episodes, the shows pretty much establish itself as a semi-serious, semi-humorous, zombie, ecchi fest.
I don't see why people are complaining about fanservice. This anime is a 18+ rated anime...meaning apart from the gore and violence....there's gonna be ecchi stuff. Get over it.

They're not complaining that the fanservice is there. They're complaining that the fanservice is stupid. At any rate, that's what I'd be complaining about, because this was pretty dumb. Awesome, but dumb.
Fanservice, peh! I would rather watch hentai tentacle raping a girl from all holes (hmm...let me count) than see these fanservice. Btw, here is a physics question: How much stress will the brests have to withstand and under what frequency (fibration), when a bullet moves at 1200 ft/sec BETWEEN those boobs w/o hitting either of them? All answer must be in 3 significant digits. And don't forget the units.
Actually, aside from the gelatin filled boobs the show is pretty well made so far. Even the fanservice is just enough to be not overdone (by anime standards) to prevent the show from being too depressing.

You haven't read the manga have you? HSotD starts off L4D-style "we gotta get the hell outta this building!" The fan service (mostly) takes place during downtimes. (Again, not counting bonus chapters)
None of those are good things, though, unless it's satirical. (HSotD tries to be serious a very good deal of the time.)
When has HOTD ever tried to be serious? The creator said in an interview that he instructed the team to put jiggling breasts in every scene... The serious parts only serve as an excuse for even more over-the top gore and fanservice. Episode 09 is a prime example: We estabilish a dark past for one character, in order to justify the use of BOOB SQUEEZING as a Berserk Button for her. Then have her slice up some zombies with a katana while getting wet from all the excitement. The parts that don't have fanservice or action are mostly there to keep the series from becoming a collection of non-sequitur boob jokes and zombie bloodfests.
This is so ridiculous. Ridiculously amazing. It's the best scene in all of HotD so far. And I knew it would be uploaded as a gif here because of that.
I'm not ashamed to like this anime at all, and I think it does have an excellent plot compared to many other fanservice anime. HotD without its fanservice would just not be the same. For me, it continues to remind me that, despite the dark, apocalyptic tone, it's still an anime.

I can imagine a sonic boom when her breast break the sound barrier.
>Watch a TV show that's supposed to be over-the-top & fun, never meant to be serious >Bitch tears when you see a scene like this Really, what the fuck is wrong with you idiots? Might as well sell every form of media you own & stare at a wall since you find make-believe moronic.

Put it to you like this: Its things like this that either turn on or off a person to a series. I played in a game that a DM said this statement" The spaceship come out of orbit over the Infinte Plane". Yes its a game, yes we are pretending, BUT!!! some things can destroy the suspension of disbelefe((Sorry if I spelled that wrong).
That's why your seeing all these comments, for a some people it just was something that just make you say no...
My thing is that the artist that did this was my tipoff to NOT watch this anime. He did Witchblade((Was OK but not much else)), Dragonaut((A trainwreck that after THAT episode made it the ONLY anime that I erased cause I couldnt watch it anymore)), now this.

No, the character designer for HSOTD and witchblade and dragonaut are not the same

If you just edited out saeko, this might have been a cool scene.
Really, I hope they re-release it with less of the fanservice. I thought this was awesome otherwise. Only one, one fanservice scene did I like. And thats because it had purpose. And it was with saeko actually - Giving her a grab to make her feel a woman and human at that time, so she'd snap out of it and fight.
(of course, that wont happen.)
Still, lol at this getting on danbooru with so many comments.
@Torpedo: What? That was one of the most offensively dumb scenes I've seen. That's exactly what you do when your friend just admitted that she's a sadist: Grope her so she'll "feel like a woman". Your attempt to explain it made it worse.
Anyway, all this talk of how the manga didn't have so much fanservice or w/e is bullshit anyway, guys. You're just noticing it more because it's in color and in motion.
Arcelio said: Congratulations, you all wasted your time debating tits in an anime.
How's it feel knowing you don't even have anything RESEMBLING a life?
What an ignorant generalization. You sound like a middle school kid trying to be condescending. If the physicists who worked on the Hadron Collider decided to argue on the internet about tits, does that disregard their lives and work?
I watched all the season 1 episodes, and i read the manga up to the most recent chapter and i cant remember a bullet passing through boobs like that. It does look pretty damn ridiculous. Some of these comments made me laugh.
Well, I'll share some words here as well. I was attracted to the show purely because of the extremely cinematic presentation (and primarily from the opening on Youtube, as with a number of animes), presentation is something I consider very important. I also like that it's like 'The Walking Dead' which is more about people's psychology under those situations than their survival. I figured the 'fan-service' was just for the heck of it as it's mature and that it was also slightly mocking other such movies, I just ignored it but most others I showed it to couldn't. Also, the main character was the most decent person. I say "fan-service" because I'm pretty sure it's the biggest deterrent of fans on this show, a lot less of it (especially not at the beginning) might have doubled its audience or more.
Honestly, I enjoyed the anime. I will admit this scene was a bit much. The story was grim but interesting. I think there was a bit too much fan service and would have been better to me if the fan service only focused on characters. (The zombie panties was too much for example)
Is that estimation accurate? So, how many mach is that? Five?
Though we have "breasts that breaks the sound barrier" now, I am still waiting for the "breasts that surpasses the speed of light." I am going to crown it as the great Breast x Breast if it ever exists.
