That's exactly why we try to base tags only on what you can actually tell from the image, rather than going by canon. Unfortunately everyone ignores this rule when it comes to traps.

I was under the impression that exceptions can be made when the pixiv tags say something indicating it's a trap or something along those lines. Not that I can actually read Japanese--I should probably work on that.

That's like tagging every Yakumo_Yukari post as old_woman to warn people they're really fapping to an old lady, or tagging every Kaine_(nier) post as futanari so people know they're fapping to a dickgirl. If there's no indication in the image that a character is really a trap or a futa or a 1200 year old hag, then for all intents and purposes they're not.
Not to mention that this makes the tag useless in blacklists. If you blacklist trap because you don't want to see stuff like post #728486, then you'll also miss stuff like post #728018 that you probably wouldn't mind.

People do that, but I still say it's better to go by what you can actually see. That way you can still tag correctly even if you can't read Japanese or can't use Pixiv.
