Its shameful the IGN France journalist went on smearing Kim Hyung Tae, throwing the assumption he is someone who never saw a woman. Truly a shameful display when you are a french gamer who knew the golden generation of french gaming journalists (Moulinex, Seb, Lord Casque Noir to name a few).

Even more embarrassing was this man's unhinged rant about how Eve's design somehow perpetuate domestic violence and women offing themselves.

As a South Korean it's hilarious to see what's going on, knowing KHT for years him being someone who simply enjoys making sexy designs.

He does the same thing again, only this time in the form of a video game, and suddenly all of these people from other countries 'assumes' that he's the eternal avatar of mistreating women.

To be fair, Korea have a reputation to be unhealty obesse with beauty standar and have a huge gender equality problem, especially compare to other, so called, first world country.

Is interestingly reflected even in their isekai, with some female characters dying from living unhealthy life styles taking various diet/weight loss medications and having an unhealthy diet to keep the weight off. Also goes hand-in-hand with those characters tending to have low self esteem due to those around them having constantly barraged them with comments that they're ugly and should have surgery to fix it.

That's not even his only games: Blade and Soul, Destiny Child, Nikke.

I've been a big fan of his art since 2002 and there's been little to no trouble with his art style until now. At times people have pointed out how weird or anatomically strange it is, but ever since political media managed to find and latch themselves onto Stellar Blade, they've decided this is their new target for a rallying cry against artists drawing appealing images. If a fictional character's APPEARANCE, makes someone mad because they're attractive (not even what their personality or agenda is), then this speaks more about them, than the artist. Getting mad because a fictional character was drawn sexy or handsome, is just telling the world you believe you're ugly and that mentality of feeling ugly comes first, before anything else; or worse, that you believe other people who will look at this are uglier than you are and shouldn't have to 'suffer' being 'forced' to look at the images.

It's even more egregious when these same people say nothing about the male character designs the artist has done (they're also cool), like the Gon race in Blade and Soul, the women are tall Amazonian-like beauties, and the men are Hulking 10 foot handsome giants, with muscles bursting from every inch of their body. They're both fun to play and enjoyable to play as, which is the core concept behind their designs, to make them enjoyable to play as, which is why I choose to play as a male Gon, not because I'm hoping one day I become a 10 foot muscle giant (I wish I could, but I don't really care), but because it looks cool.

This is where people wants GamerGate 2.0 over some bullshit gaming journalists like IGN and Kotaku even some chronically terminal online Twitter users

I miss those days, man. I had burst of laughter reading them back in high school. This man's unhinged tirade made me realize how effed this generation of journalists is.

In general they aren't journalists anymore. Press release delivery people or company sock puppets are more fitting terms.

If we want something that is remotely neutral and unbias we have to be willing to pay for it. Otherwise it'll just be wealthy people buying it up and using it as platform to manipulate the masses.

I think the precise problem is that we haven't been given a lot of personality for Eve, because all we have is a demo. So there's not a lot to talk about her besides her looks. Most of the dissent I've seen centers around how bland she feels as a character just from what was presented in the demo and that the story feels awfully similar to Nier Automata though. Not a lot of criticism about her appearance unless it's in relation to the above criticisms or when it's on the topic of her body being realistic, which is an entirely different can of worms. Again it is a demo, so no one's opinion should really be set in stone or taken as gospel until the whole game releases.

Just wished the hype was through organic excitement for the game and not because it was thrust into being an online politics flashpoint by an IGN article. I heard Nikke has a subplot about making the player respect the andriod girls as humans, so I don't doubt that the concerns about how Eve will be protrayed are unfounded.

It's not a subplot. Halfway into the campaign our main objective becomes ensuring a better life for the girls, and every action taken by the commander is towards that goal.

Nikke Commander treating the Nikkes like human beings is very much the trait that set him apart from other commanders. While it cause westerners to sneer at how low the bar is set, it makes sense when you judge Nikke while having in mind how BROKEN the dialogue between genders is in South Korea.

Ppl need to watch those two video

outside of that ign journalist there weren't many people angry at the ass and tits, when the reviews came out it wasn't even the focus of the review because the gameplay was good.
