I'm positive I read something about youkai being able to survive and regenerate from being chopped into pieces. Forget where, though.

Perferct Memento in strict sense or something canon-ish,but I'm pretty sure it's just trying to talk about how tough youkais are,not a list of powers every youkai have.
So basically,while some youkais are tough or regenerate fast enough to survive mutilation and such,not all of them can.

Depends on what you mean by "Fast enough". Human being's have survived horrible stuff as long as they got medical attention. As far as Losing some limbs and blood loss go, even if the Youkai in question doesnt have "Regenerative" powers, as long as you stop the bleeding and get some medical help, I'm sure the Youkai will come out alive just fine.

In this case, Mystia can certainly survive that as long as she stops the bleeding. Otherwise, she could still die of blood loss. Unless Rule of anime kicks in and she has like 100 gallons of blood in there.

There is a distinct difference between "Regenerating" and "Healing". Healing just means you survive and the damaged part no longer impedes other systems. Regeneration means healing plus functionality of the damaged part is restored. So, in this case, healing a lost limb means the bleeding stops and the skin seals up around the wound, but you still don't have the limb. Regeneration would be the limb grows back.

Shall we setup a philanthropy to deal with this?
