You did really well (I changed one of them and cleaned up another, I think), but I had to put all the notes back in place because someone had just randomly scrambled them around.

I've found my own translations edited or moved just for fun--any way that we could curtail this by, say, making the editing of other's notes only available to registered users or something like that? That way anyone could add and change their own information to an image, but you wouldn't get this sort of random vandalism.

I have seen that sort of "vandalism" that could often be more adequately explained by people first writing notes, hitting save, and only *then* moving them around to intended locations, which results in correct look on the editor's screen, but wrong positions being saved in DB.

That's probably what happened. It's the first I've used the note system.

葉月, you're probably right in this situation...I also noticed myself the other day that putting a semicolon in a note ends it at that point, so I wound up with a messed up line myself. But there have also been instances where the content of the note has been changed--I can think of one I did in particular (I'm not proud of it, but it involved cowgirls).

Ah, well, not necessary since it can always be reverted, but I just thought it might be food for thought =P

of course, there is true vandalism occasionally, but it's relatively rare, and the most annoying form of it (add stupid note, and we're screwed because notmal users can't remove notes) has already been addressed by albert.
