A soothing warmth was the first thing that clicked in Nessa’s mind, eyes slowly opening to catch sight of blue flames engulfing her left leg. Yet instead of pain, they seemed to ease and heal her lingering wound.

It wasn’t until she tried giving it a kick, that she felt two hands holding her up, as if she was a bride being carried by their beloved groom. But the sight of ghostly flames lingering and reaching for her instinctively made the Gym Leader feel grave concern bubble up.

“Ease your heart, Nessa of Hulbury,” the familiar, but crackling voice of Kodaka advised Nessa.

Slowly looking up, Nessa felt her heart almost cease to beat. Not out of fear, but in amazement at what beheld her eyes.

Instead of the familiar young, and lively face of Kodaka with her purple ears sticking out of her hair. Kodaka now looked down at her with gentle, compassionate flaming orbs for eyes. The tips of her hair waved to an unseen hand alight with fire, along with both of her ears.

So for those who have been keeping up with the story, everything strange that has happened with Kodaka. Pokémon equipment mistaking her for a Pokémon, fire types taking an interest in her, being able to scare a Mega Aggron. Those were all leading up to the flaming and burning arrival of Foxfire Kodaka.
Although just how or why Kodaka can do this? A question for another time.
