seeing how far apart the nose pads are anyway. Even if she did have a nose by oldschool anime style, it wouldnt work anyway. Those are more like face pads.

Cheek pads, and they do make some sense. It isnt just the characters lack of a nose its that the lens of her glasses (glass?) is so big. If they tried to put the pads in the normal place they have to be attached to the bottom of the lens and would push the glasses up (or else, the weight of the lens would cause it to pivot forward from the top and the glasses would fall off constantly). Normally glasses distribute the weight between the two lenses; here we don't have that luxury. The pads placemnt may be odd, but it does make physicaly sense.
