Death represents change for the better, or releasing yourself from an old way of thinking. Death is supposed to represent a change unto a higher state of consciousness. Think of a butterfly coming out of a cocoon it entered as a caterpillar.
Reversed --------
Death reversed represents the outright refusal to change or to hang onto the old way of thinking and acting. It represents the unfortunate state of remaining stagnant until all opportunities have passed.
