At least it makes more sense than Souboy a bit. But once you realize that most ships come from not understanding the basis of a friendship and simply involving aspects that are farfetched from the original idea.

Yes, not every close friendship that involves one side liking the other has to make sense as a pairing even tho it does on paper. Think of it as loving someone that doesn't feel the same is like releasing a bird free, it may come back, it may not, but regardless of the outcome one can only admire it's grace. As someone once said, if you love a flower, you don't pick it up. So to summarize and not throw in a whole argument about this topic to make someone bored; Aoko and Soujuuro is a love that never came to be fulfilled due to unresolved feelings by a traumatic event from Aoko's past, and as time went on, Soujuuro accepted it and simply became friends with her, showing that he's fine with it as long as she grows and is happy with her decisions in life, went from love to acceptance and moving on to a beautiful friendship.

You type all that when the collab all but said to your face that its basically a love triangle between the protags, Sojuuro likes Aoko, Aoko likes Sojuuro but wont admit it because she thinks he likes Alice instead and Alice like Soujuuro, yet somehow this ship which has no basis on any canon content whatsoever makes more sense?

So we're taking what happens into FGO as the canon instead of their oficial game? I'm not gonna judge but throwing to waste an impactful story with nice messages just to make it into FGO as the cliche love triangle that never concludes just to be further exploited for a long ride feels disappointing. I hope you understand my point of view on this

Not sure how impacting are you talking about considering the official Mahoyo game was full of shiptease by the end of it. Reminder that the story isnt complete yet, we have but 1 story out of 3, lots of unresolved plot threads, threads that the collab dangled but we're left on speculating on what actual events actually unfolded
