Looks good, but still could have used more work.
Tips:

• Go a little easier on the contrast. Pure black on pure white makes unhappy eyes.
• Clean the background a little better, especially outside the page border
• Don't settle for crookedness. Rotate until it's perfect!

Thanks for the suggestions.

That said, Hiroyuki's work seems to be mostly in pure black and white -- I have a hard time finding greys (while zoomed in, and also while using his pixiv works as references) and he uses screen tones (note the geometric patterns) instead of gradient shading.

I may be wrong though.
