I described this in the semiautomatic thread before. The tag alias fucked with me, too, when I tried to do something about the pistol tag as I promised. It seems to turn on and off randomly - if you search for handgun -pistol and get multiple pages of results, the alias is off and it will work. But if the search fails to find anything, don't bother to tag it, as "pistol" will always alias back to "handgun". I already mailed Jxh about this and it looks that the solution would be contraproductive and complicated, so I gave up on it. It's not really crippling - yes, it goes slowly now, but I'm still working on it and will finish in foreseeable future, don't worry.
