She's wearing a custom company cap with the logo of North River, a boat manufacturer based in Oregon. It's always fun digging into these references; you uncover all sorts of cool trivia.
The outerwear is a Columbia Convert series jacket. Apparently, Convert was a snowboard clothing line from the '90s, but I couldn't dig up much more than that. Any Columbia nerds out there, please drop some knowledge; I'm all ears. The earthy color palette and logo are adorable. This is the one piece I'm currently hunting for in thrift shops.
The shoes are Salomon XT-6 FT sneakers. Seriously, that's the name? Give your shoes easier names, for crying out loud. They are tough yet lightweight like typical sneakers, and pretty convenient to put on. Halfway through sketching this, a Kith collab from the same series dropped, and its colors were much better. The beanie she's wearing is the ARC'TERYX Bird Head Toque. And boy oh boy, I sure love that Arc'teryx logo. There's something really epic about it being based on an actual archaeopteryx. I usually shy away from in-your-face logo prints, but this one totally gets a pass.
Her vest is a Carhartt Duck Vest, complete with cozy boa lining. Okay, not technically a vest, but I just bought a grimy vintage gem at a thrift shop in Shimokita the other day. And it is splendid~. Duck canvas doesn't hit its stride until it's a little worn-in, so I recommend checking out second-hand spots (just my two cents).
As for sneakers, she's wearing the NIKE SB BRSB. They come in the OG colorway of the iconic Cortez. And honestly, I think the silhouette looks even sharper than the original. Dropping them under the SB line is such a power move. Pair these bad boys with denim fits, and boom; you're channeling Martin from day one!Asakura Toru (noctchill)Saijo Juri (Houkago Climax Girls)To me, fashion is a form of self-expression, a tool that lets me say to the world, "This is who I am" (with a dash of my own ideals mixed in). In that sense, my drawings, where I put characters in whatever outfits I like, might be considered a kind of blasphemy. I mean, Juri would never wear a Carhartt, nor would Toru ever put on a pair of Salomons. Then again, idols, by nature of their profession, are often shaped by the ideals of their fans. And yet, it kind of irks me when the fashion that I work on isn't really my cup of tea. Man, otaku are a pain. If any of you otaku have a problem with this, then go live off official content for the rest of your life, assholes.
The outfits this time are just things I randomly pulled from Pint*rest on a whim, so there's no particular theme at all. If I had to say, I guess it's boyish and tough. Is Nike "tough"? No idea.
