I just wish the fad of drawing the entire face on the bottom half of the head would enter history already.

Past infancy, a human's eyes are level with their ears, both of which are at the very center of the skull/head. Current anime drawing trends put the eyebrows level with the ears/center, making the face somewhat small and the forehead/"brain cavity" enormous. As far as I can tell it's supposed to play into that same "this is a feature babies have therefore it looks young and cute" but I don't personally follow that logic.
EDIT: I should point out that this drawing is actually more in line with having centered eyes, though not exactly. Mint's current model is much, much more pronouncedly waterheaded.
