Artist's commentary
The Chained Hawk Soars
Memories of those we have met slowly fade and slip away. That's just how it is. And so I choose to keep these chains and trinkets to remember them by.
"I will not forget you. This way we can always walk together."
I have lost many friends and comrades along the way, but there is nothing to be gained by cursing my inability to save them. That feeling will never bring back those who have been lost. Instead I carry them with conviction in my heart, toward a future when the desert will overflow with greenery and life. (Dignity of the Sand Hawks' Vice-Captain)
