RED EYE1号表紙。何というか非常に印象深く残っている一枚。これまで絵を描く商売に携わってはきたけれど原稿を描きあげれば編集さんに渡してそれでおしまいだった。自分で入校作業まで考えるようなことはなかったわけだ。ずいぶん長いこと漫画家は出版関係の仕事だと思ってたんだけど印刷方面には無縁だったんだね。極端な話、トンボを打つこともなかったわけだから(^^)。初めて同人誌なるものを印刷所に持ち込んだときは年甲斐もなくドキドキしてしまった(^^)。大日本とか、でっかい印刷会社ではなんとも思わないんだけど。1999/04/05

The cover of RED EYE No. 1. It's a piece that left a very strong impression on me. I'd been involved in the business of drawing illustrations, but once I'd finished a manuscript, I'd hand it over to an editor and that was it. I'd never had to think about proofreading it myself. For a long time, I'd thought that manga artists worked in publishing, but I guess I had nothing to do with printing. To put it bluntly, I'd never even been involved in registration (^^). When I took my first doujinshi to the printing company, I was nervous despite my age (^^). I don't think much of it at big printing companies like Dai Nippon Printing.
