Yep, you're right. Bear Grylls would love a meal like that.
Question: do you want culinary advice from a man famous for drinking his own urine...?

The man is named Bear Grylls. I'd take his advice on damn near anything.

I wouldn't. Just an example, in Worst Case Scenario, he repeatedly stresses how we should avoid downed power lines to avoid electrocution through shorting differing potentials in the ground. My winter boots' ~1 cm thick rubber soles have a dielectric strength of at least (probably more, I used neoprene rubber's value) 15.7 MV/m, meaning I could casually walk along rails charged to 16,000,000 volts. Overhead power lines go up to 800 kV for long-distance power transmission, so I fart in their general direction, and stroll across electrified ground without impunity.

Always take what that man says with a grain of salt. Generally accurate, and it never hurts to err on the side of caution and all, but still it's worth to double-check your facts...

Also, drinking your own urine would lead you to an even faster dehydration, since it's 2% salt, which thanks to the osmosis, will end up drawing water from your cells to try to dillute salty water(Urine, sea water, blood ), thus dehydrating them.

Of course the kidneys can filter the salt (Through the urine), but they can only do this at a limited rate. And not to mention that urine contains toxins that your body spent energy trying to dispose of.

Drinking urine is a military knowledge. The point of it it's just so you can endure enough time till you find a good source of water (it's a calculated risk). And usually, the skills that appears on the show (Man vs Wild and Worst Case Scenario) are for surviving situations for people without special accessories like rubber boots, water filters and stuffs.
Still, I believe in most of the things he says (THE MAN CAN SIMPLY WALK INTO MOLDOR !!!). Besides, these are fun show.

He used the rest of the body for food, and for protection against the desert wind. Don't worry, the camel was already dead.

Either way, Cockroaches are the janitor bugs of the animal kingdom. Even if they are disgusting.

Wait, so in other countries cockroaches aren't? :O

I'm pretty sure they are edible anywhere (except Radroaches, but that's beside the point). It's just that in most countries, it's not really something called "healthy" to eat.

everything is edible once you learn your survival skill, that's the basic, everything is edible once you clean it or put in fire.

Anyway have you even heard roasted roaches been selling at the street of Thailand, yeah I remember that thing, a friend of mine force me to eat that thing, but I'm not that stupid to do so...

People in other Asian countries eat more bugs than Chinese especially if they live in tropical jungles where the big meaty herbivores can kill humans.
