Celestine the little mouse from the animated movie “Ernest & Celestine”. She is intelligent, has attitude, acts fast and is very well animated, plus a perfect voice acting, without a doubt my favorite animated character so far. I have strong resonance with Celestine because we share a similar story of having a strong motivation of drawing pictures as little children, but the adults was expecting something else from us and they never liked us.

This picture is drawn using only my left hand. I was a left-handed child just like Celestine, but the adults “corrected” my “bad habit” before I went to elementary school. This probably impeded my recognition development and contributed to my long-term learning difficulties. I never did well at school before I went to college.

Celestine inspired me to live as myself. I decided to re-enable my left hand after I watched the movie. I haven't been holding a pen using my left hand for 25 years. Completing this picture seemed impossible at the beginning. But I thought if I don't try, I can never have my left hand back. So I pushed myself to the limit. No drawing assistance like ruler, vector tool was used.

And I made it! :) Although it is just the beginning, I was convinced that one can do anything if you are determined like Celestine! ...But come to think of it, I have already done switching from Windows to GNU/Linux, Adobe Photoshop to Krita/GIMP. How difficult can it be to switch from right-handed to left-handed anyways! XD
