New Meat's use of 打てない bamboozles me.

One meaning of 打つ is "to type" or "to tap", as on typewriter or register keys. Or was that the part that confused you?

I see you edited this to omit the bit about touch-screen registers. I was gonna say it made me feel old to make the connection between registers and punching keys immediately...

Actually, I edited it because I realized later that night that one does actually tap on touch-screens, so my excuse fell kinda flat.
