Confession time: I never really understood Kaguya's and Eirin's relationship. In my understanding, Eirin was Kaguya's teacher, but Kaguya is higher in the pecking order since she's a princess, so Eirin betrayed everyone to take care of Kaguya when she drank the forbidden Kool-Aid. And I don't understand why Eirin even cares, she probably had a dozen different pupils. And no, they're not lovers, it'd be too easy. And also playing Imperishable Night made it clear that Kaguya gives the orders, even if Eirin is the brain.

Eirin was basically her caretaker/servant. She just happens to spoil Kaguya rotten.

Eirin feels personally responsible for Kaguya's banishment to Earth, so her loyalty to her is basically her way of atoning.
