I couldn't help but notice the girl in blue and the guy with the glasses are both wearing rings. While not matching rings, there's a slim possibility that these might be wedding bands. Also noticed the others aren't wearing any visible rings on their left hands. If that were the case, the two competing couples might be swingers, one married couple and one unmarried.
This is just idle speculation and there's also positional cues that imply otherwise but urakanda does tend to put a lot of little details in his pictures for people to catch.

You may be right, but have you taken into account the scoreboard above their heads?
Yeah, they're competing against each other (and they stopped keeping track at about 8 each). Also, the holding of hands implies a more emotional connection than just friends giving each others' partners an endurance run so I could well be misinterpreting a minor detail. Wonder if the artist left any contextual info about the pic.

Your analysis is pretty detailed and the evidence seems to support your claims. It also appears that they didn't bring enough condoms and they decided to keep going. Perhaps they didn't stop keeping track but it's at a tie. Score is 8 to 8, with 10 used condoms scattered across the bed.
At a closer look, there is Team E and Team M. Initials for the females perhaps, since the males are collared.
P.S. Since it seems they're not really using any right now, should the condom tag still be used?

Look closer at the collars and you will see an "M" on the right guy's and an "E" on the left guy's.
