it's not cheating if they told Yukari before hand. Besides, they're against a vampire and Reimu, who has a plot shield big enough to beat gods.

The higher ups approved it, Red 75% asked them to do it, and would you rather they have not done any planning or preparation and just got completely run over?

As for the comic, ugh, I really wish we had a translator right now, it seems that things are about to get real here and it also seems Remilia is calling Nitori out on something, I assume she's saying Nitori is no match for someone like her, playing on her insecurities about not being able to help Marisa.

The only "fair" fight so far has been between Byakuren's team and Tenshi's team.

Nitori's backpack must have 2 or more unseen arms that are bracing the ground as to not pin Marisa to the ground while lifting that Iron Maiden.

This would be a really good time for Reimu to pop back into existence and do something.

So, from an in-story perspective, which is what they'd be basing their actions on, they're up against a vampire.

Somehow, I don't think just beating her across the head with an oily maiden will work...

Team members are normally supposed to be outside the ring when not engaging in some sort of team play, I assume Reimu is either waiting on the opposite side of the ring from Kirisame Familiar's group or is maneuvering herself to deal with their tricks.

It's a matter of contrast. If Marisa, Alice, and Patchy were all just standing around watching, then it wouldn't seem odd. But since they've been so busy since the last time we saw Reimu, it feels like a lot of time is passing and she's doing absolutely nothing as she politely waits for the plot to remember she exists.

They're seriously going to use the iron maiden? Overkill much?

Besides, even if the higher-ups agreed the use of these items, isn't killing your opponent illegal anyway? The anti-magic barrier combined with that sun-oil doused iron maiden could be a bit much for even Remi.
