After looking at my Tactics Ogre Artworks book, I decided to have a go at drawing a character whom I thought was quite stunning.

So here's my take on the Valkyrie, Dame Ravness Loxaerion.

I originally just wanted to draw her portrait, because I just LOVE her hair, with those braids of hers, but the more I drew, I ended up adding more and more, until I ended up with a full body pic.

No idea what colour her eyes were. With Akihiko Yoshida's drawing and inking style, he usually doesn't give the eyes any colour, just a blob of ink, so I guess the eye colours are open to interpretation? I made Ravness' eyes blue anyways.

Her character design is VERY similar to Final Fantasy Tactics' lovely Agrias Oaks, and the character designers themselves were very aware of that. They pretty much wanted another Agrias Oaks-style character, but more complex in design.

When I was able to recruit Ravness, I was seriously psyched up. Here was a character that looked like Agrias Oaks, AND can use a polearm! (my favourite type of RPG weapon y'see) I was hoping to bring her into every battle, and have her fight alongside Denam and co from beginning to end.

But...strangely...that didn't go according to plan....

During my playthroughs, as I started to recruit more and more people, I started to find fewer and fewer uses for Ravness, to the point where other characters started to outshine her in the poking-monsters-really-hard-with-a-stick department.

Eventually, it got to a point where I didn't field her at all ><

But still, I think her character design is fantastic!
