Red 75% did absolutely nothing other than jumping around and getting hit. I was expecting to see them do more, really. If they lose here, then I'll have to wonder where the next maches will end up at.
I mean, I can accept the fact that Marisa is a cheating ponce and doesn't care, but I wonder what will happen with the fights, now. Someone will might as well just bring a gun to the ring. And the bad thing is, they might as well, if Yukari wills it...
Really, I want to see the cheaters lose. If only for the honor of those that didn't cheat so far. ...And those are next to none.
If team Reimulia loses, this could possibly spur Yukari on to adopt a more strict set of rules. Also maybe some other things in there to level the playing field between opponents with vastly different levels of physical parameters.

This. This kind of feeling they're getting out of you is EXACTLY why Kirisame Familiar should win! A team that can draw out such a response is the exact kind of team we need near the finals to make things much more tense and on the line.
I find it unlikely that a "stricter set of rules" has any chance of being adopted because this sort of stuff is undeniably the great equalizer. Reimu and Remilia would have squashed Marisa and Nitori in a "fair" fight and everyone on either side of reality knows it. Squash matches aren't fun, they're boring and shitty.
Sadly, I also find it unlikely that Marisa and Nitori are going to be the heel team in the finals, because it seems like Kaguya has that wrapped up. But if Marisa and Nitori could knock Reimu and Remilia out here, and then probably lose to whoever they face next round...
Come to think of it, won't we have five teams left after this match? Sakuya/Suika vs. Utsuho/Tenshi is booked. That least Sanae/Suwako, Kaguya/Mokou and the winner of this match. Wonder if someone will get a bye, or if they'll resolve the booked match before going to a final four.
possibilities: - Remilia uses bat form and gets away - Reimu uses Fantasy Heaven and becomes immaterial - Nitori and Marisa lose because that's how close to winning they could get :(

Which is the problem here, it is still a squash match.

I want my moral lesson dammit. Flan showing up or Marisa exploding or something. There needs to be a moral to the story (and something to avoid another seeming ass pull).

Moral Lesson(s): Strategy & Cunning => Brute Force

But in Kinnikuman bad guys would win over the good guys sometimes in order for them to get their lesson in a later match.

These.
Past the first few installments of this fight, Reimu and Remilia have essentially not done anything, and Marisa as a character has been so completely unimportant that you could replace her with Lily White and nobody would know the difference. Marisa's powerup is turning out to have been a complete and total waste of our time, because she has removed her strength from the equation entirely at the earliest opportunity, at the same time depriving us of the anticipated Match of the Player Characters. Reimu has spent large portions of the fight doing absolutely nothing, whether it's because she's too busy being swung through the air or for no apparent reason at all. Remilia's every weakness has been exploited to spare us from the possibility of her doing anything at all, because characters doing things must be stopped, no matter the cost. Nitori has come closest to contributing meaningfully to the match, but only as a narrative tool for making "creating an opening" a useful action.
I am mystified by the people who think this match has been awesome and think it would be a bad thing for Reimu and Remi to escape their predicament. (Well, except Wahbahbah I guess. It sounds like this was basically your perfect match. Rock on, Wahbahbah.)

The entire point of the buildup and the match itself has been that the moment Red 75% actually gets on balance and hits back, they'd demolish Marisa and Nitori in a matter of seconds.
There's two ways this fight could go, one is what we're seeing and the other would have ended about the time Marisa's powerup was displayed as a device for showing just how ungodly strong Reimu is. Because rather than casually blocking a couple of supposedly super powered hits and then getting pinned, she would have smacked Marisa right across the mat and the match would be over.
As the translator, I will just voice out my opinion up to this point. If given a choice, I would want Marisa's team to win.
For me, Marisa stopped using her enhanced power because she knew it wouldn't work with power weaker than Flandre and Yuuka, so she went for Plan B instead. When you know you're not making any progress, it's natural for you to stop for other options.
For those who think Marisa's team has anticipated pretty much everything, do understand that they have a previous match (Scarlet 75% vs Rabbit & Soul) to know how their opponents will behave (Even though Remilia is more composed compared to last match, her pride as a superior race is still getting the better of her). That, and the ample time between the first and second round, allowed them to prepare for practically anything. (Remember, Patchouli even prepared strategies for Koakuma's team.) There is also one thing when one of the strategists(Patchouli) is a close friend of the opponent(Remilia). This is Prepped Batman vs Superman all right, with both of them living under one roof.
If Remilia and Reimu were able to win, they'd better learn not to underestimate their opponents next time. Even Kaguya has warned them before that they'll be exploited of all weaknesses. But here we are, with both of them pretty much underestimated their opponents. Right now, they remind me of Kinnikuman's fight with Prince Kamehame. Kinnikuman was quick to grumble about having to fight a slave instead of the champ himself, but was even quicker to be defeated by the elderly fighter.
tldr: Frankly, Marisa's team know what they and their opponent are capable of (While the opponents only know of their own ability), so they are more likely to win. It's basic Sun Tzu's art of war
Bits regarding the backpack: In Kinnikuman series, as long as a weapon is accepted as a part of a participant's costume, it can be used in the ring as it is. Firstly mentioned with Buffaloman's spiked knee pad, and then Cassette King's backpack. We haven't seen Nitori's backpack being carried away, so I'll assume they allowed it. Then again, the iron maiden and garlic paste part boggles me, but I guess Remilia's "Accept everything" overruled them.)

The problem with this fight is if Marisa/Nitori win, it will be boring. Just one long fight of Reimu and Remilia getting their shit kicked and not retaliating at all on-screen.
But if Reimu/Remilia win, it'll be an asspull just like the Kaguya/Mokou vs Eiki/Komachi fight. One team is kicking the other team's ass until suddenly they aren't.

Only in the sense that it has been one-sided. Marisa and Nitori have gained the advantage by being cleverer and working harder, not just by being bigger and stronger.
If given a choice of winner in a completely one-sided match of, say, Evan Bourne vs. The Great Khali, I'll pick Bourne 11 times out of ten, simply because he isn't the one you'd expect to win.

But suppose you were coming in expecting to see an awesome match, and the match consisted entirely of "Bourne presses the Khali Dies button and Khali dies." Would that seem worthwhile to you?
Reimu and Remi beat Marisa and Nitori because they're Superman. Marisa and Nitori beat Reimu and Remi because they're Batman. It doesn't matter because Yuuka and Cirno actually beat Sanae and Suwako in round one and they go on to win the tournament. There, now everyone should be happy, right? No, that's stupid. None of us are here to find out who won. We're here for the matches, and the only thing about this match that has entertained me has been my own incorrect predictions about where it was going. (EDIT: Oh, and comparing the participants to various DC characters.)

You assume that most of us think this is how it's going to end. I'm under the impression that everyone knows deep down that there's an 80% chance Red 75% will still win. Note how so many people have talked about Red 75% suddenly switching the momentum in the previous strips. The last match was the very definition of momentum reversal and it was one that most people didn't like. So seeing this kind of match right after that, we kind of hope for things to be different. We know that the momentum will switch soon but realize that if it does then Kirisame Familiar is most likely doomed, so we hope that it doesn't happen even though it should.

That's not really a moral lesson.
Cheater never win is what we are after here.

No doubt, it is just that this match (considering the last one) is just screaming for the old above "cheaters never win" :)

I got the impression it was more to do with the "damage" it caused her.

Which is the problem. Patchy is just a little too good at anticipating anything. It worked with Batman since he had no other options, here Kirisame Familia does even if they are weaker by a degree.

Should have come out of the first match really.

That advantage was closer to sheer domination.
Honestly too many matches are coming down to "ass pulls" or some type. Eg How Sakuya lasted 10 comics in a choke hold and then got out, Kaguya picked up the rod of remorse even this one with every possibility seemingly accounted and prepped for.
Zerii seemed to drift a bit away from the source material a bit around the Moryia matches which was nice. More of a unpredictable brawl with nice surprises.
Wahbahbah said: I'm honestly loving the way this is turning out, I personally hate Reimu and her plot armour. In reality she isn't really strong, she just set up some rules that make her win, so she really is just cheating, the entire time, and nobody is the wiser...
Also who better to beat down Reimu then mah favorite kappa?
Don't you realize that she has PUNCHED THROUGH A WALL? Do not tell me that ain't strong.

Why is it so hard to imagine someone was able to last in a choke hold for ten strips? Ten strips can be three minutes in a comic, just look at how the announcers are able to rattle off what the players are doing and finish before the players do.
If I remember correctly, Kaguya grabbed the Rod of Remorse as she was in the air and I was under the impression that she used its weight to increase the power of her attack. It was Mokou that threw it to her and before the match Komachi was able to lift the Rod for a time, it seemed that its weight doesn't set in immediately.
