And if I'm right here, then this is where Red 75% comes around to their victory. The other two are just plain out of steam, and as Reimu recovers, she's gonna dish out one hell of a counterattack. True to the series, they'll have the come-from-behind victory.
At first, I was confused that Reimu was basically saying "We powerful aristocracy need to maintain our supremacy, so I'm gonna kick your ass sideways" to her best friend.
Then I remembered that Sanae is the "good" miko in this series and is thus more likely to speak about the power of friendship & inner strength & such.
Reimu's footwork might suffer from all the tossing about and the crotch shot. She might be able to win outright with a palm strike, but landing a hit might not be within her means anymore.
JakeBob said: It was explained in that strip. She was going for the shirikodama.
Or are you talking about a different attack?
I think he means that he doesn't think someone would ACTUALLY go there with Nitori and that she was actually trying something else.
It could very well be that if she did try something that it's going to come into play now.
This entire fight reminds me of the times when I'd play a video-game with a powerful enemy that blocks whenever you swing at it. If your foe could get just one hit in then you'd be toast but so long as you keep knocking him back then you're safe, that's the entire match in a nutshell.

Eh, I don't really mind who wins with current progress since I've gotten what I looked forward to. The Queen of Night was forced to retreat in humiliation, by a mere human she deemed not worthy of being her opponent early on to boot.
If she wouldn't learn from this experience, nothing would. Heck, she's most probably tearing herself up in anger as she slams the canvas right now.

That's just cold, Reimu.
She spoke from the viewpoint of someone who has to clean up incidents. Marisa's words threaten to spark a bunch of them if she were to win. Reimu's doing this to maintain the piece (and to ensure she gets the prize money)
Is it just me or did I just see the barrier in the 4th panel? O.o
