For context: Alice tried to use Hilichurls as a method to generate free energy. Not by the hamster wheel you imagined, though. She devised a method to harvest the energy generated by the regeneration curse of Hilichurls, meaning to keep the energy going they need to undergo not-so-death every second of the reminder of their existence.
I fail to see the issue. The ones that used to be humans have lost their mind anyway and the others are just monsters, at least they'll have some use to the world that way.
